Civil Engineering Institute "IG" Banja Luka is a scientific-research institute whose activity constantly develops and comprises activities in the fields of construction, energetics and ecology thereby providing a wide range of services, including:

  • development of strategic and implementational planning documentation,
  • development of study documentation,
  • consultancy services (counselling, analyses, syntheses, conceptual designs),
  • development and review of technical documentation,
  • development of environmental documentation,
  • supervision over the execution of works and technical inspection of executed works,
  • geodetic surveys and measurements,
  • laboratory tests of construction materials and structures,
  • geological tests and explorations,
  • services in the field of occupational safety and fire protection,
  • environmental monitoring.

Institute's essence and value is its staff, with a total of 170 employees, out of which 80% have higher education. The structure of employees consists of a synthesis of young engineers and experienced experts who can solve even the most complex problems within multidisciplinary teams. In addition to experts, the Institute employs scientists and researchers (doctors of science, masters of science and masters), and is registered as a scientific-research institution.

In addition to the headquarters in Banja Luka, the Institute includes business units in Sarajevo and Trebinje, offices in Doboj and Nevesinje, a central laboratory in Klašnice, a branch office in Belgrade (Serbia), and branch offices in Vrbovec (Croatia) and Podgorica (Montenegro).

The Institute has a state-of-the-art certified central laboratory as well as mobile ecological laboratories for environmental monitoring. Also, it owns modern geodetic equipment, equipment for performing energy audits, drilling rigs for all types of geological tests, off-road and passenger vehicles. All offices are equipped with the most modern hardware and licensed software equipment.

Civil Engineering Institute has all prescribed professional qualifications, authorisations and registrations for the performance of professional supervision over construction as well as the performance of technical inspections of executed works in the territory of Republika Srpska, the Brčko District and the Federation of BiH. In addition to the headquarters in Banja Luka, the Institute also has offices in Doboj, Trebinje, Nevesinje and Sarajevo, where 30 engineers of various professional qualifications are employed to perform the aforementioned tasks.

Based on many years of experience in the mentioned works, since the very establishment of the Institute until today, through numerous projects in the field of road design   and high-rise construction, the Institute has confirmed the status of a reliable partner in all projects that are framed by construction standards, technical regulations and valid legislation.

Certification body

Civil Engineering Institute “IG”, as a CERTIFICATION BODY FOR FACTORY PRODUCTION CONTROL (FPC), provides the services of certification, that is to say evaluation and verification of conformity of construction products.
The Certification Body is appointed by the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Civil Engineering and Ecology for product certification and is accredited by the Institute for Accreditation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BATA) according to the BAS EN ISO/IEC 17065 standard, also for product certification.

After accepting the offer and entering into the Certification Contract, you apply for certification.

At the end of the certification procedure, we issue a conformity certificate based on:

  • initial inspection of the production facility and factory production control
  • constant supervision, assessment and evaluation of factory production control.

The conformity certificate is entered in the publicly available Register of Certificates (OB.POS-02/01).
The detailed certification procedure, as well as the requirements that must be met to obtain and maintain certificates of compliance and factory production  control, as well as the rights and obligations of the IG Certification Body and the, i.e. the applicant, are specified in the document Certification Rules (POS-02).
